New Positions – New People:
In our newsletter for last month, we detailed our search for new people to fill several job openings in key positions to help Citynet meet our customer expectations. This month we would like to introduce two of our newest teammates:
John Null:
John Null joins Citynet as General Manager – Telco Sales and Marketing effective March 31, 2008.
"John comes to Citynet with excellent sales and sales management experience in the telecommunications industry. We are delighted to have him on our expanding team of sales professionals" said Frank Boscarillo, COO, Citynet
Mr. Null’s experience includes running his own business for the past 4 years. Prior to that, John had experience working for some of the biggest names in the telecommunications industry. He was Data Network Account Executive at ATT; Acquisition Account Manager at Sprint; and an Account Manager at Advanced Technical Solutions.
John will be responsible for the daily oversight of sales management, training, hiring of new sales professionals, setting sales goals and objectives, and Citynet’s marketing activities.
Kris Heiser:
Also joining us is Kris Heiser who will become our new Director-Marketing and Online Advertising effective April 7, 2008.
"Kris joins Citynet at a wonderful time in our expansion of marketing and online advertising programs. She is a skilled professional with superb experience in her field" said Mr. Boscarillo.
Kris’s most recent experience includes Director of Internet Operations at West Virginia Media Holdings. She also worked at Cox Enterprises based in Pittsburgh, and as an on-the-air broadcaster at WTAE-AM in Pittsburgh.
She will be responsible for the Citynet’s marketing program and our increasingly important online advertising program. She will also work with our media partners on content and management.
Customer Comment - Central West Virginia Dermatology Associates
We love to get letters and email from our wonderful customers. Some are very helpful and others tell the Citynet story better than we ever could ourselves. This is a letter from Central West Virginia Dermatology Associates located in Bridgeport, West Virginia. They graciously permitted us to reprint the letter in our newsletter:
The quality of the service that Citynet provides is excellent. All the way from your sales rep Eric Spatafore, to
your tech support team (Josh Pickens and his group in Bridgeport, WV and Randy Showalter in Columbus, OH)
the support from these people is outstanding.
We had a problem a couple of months ago with our wireless link (telephone and data) from one building to another
(it’s a business in one building sharing our T1 in our building). Apparently the Linksys routers that Citynet
recommended we purchase didn't work very well together. Your tech people were able to diagnose this problem,
provided us a Cisco router (at no cost) on our side, set static IP addresses on the PAP2 devices, and the connection
has been working great ever since.
All I can say is that the service is awesome and that your tech people stay after problems until they are resolved.
Service of this caliber in the telecommunications industry today is a hard thing to find. Keep up the good work.
John N. Gorby
Central West Virginia Dermatology Associates, Inc.
Citynet Culture:
Citynet is viewed by employees as a wonderful place to work, where employees can advance and make a difference. We also pride ourselves in providing a family environment, encouraging close teamwork and open communication.
Recently, Bill Morgan (Spider to his friends), Director of Human Relations, received a newsletter from HR Daily Advisor that cited a recent article in The Wall Street Journal about a contest of the Top 15 Small Work Places and why they won. As noted in the article, here are items common to every winner:
- Clear values and a sense of mission and vision that permeates the culture
- Values that extend beyond the workplace and impact the larger society
- Honest and transparent communication that creates trust, enhances commitment, and encourages innovation
- Extraordinary focus on the customer and on building long-term relationships
- Strong sense of community
- Long view with a focus on sustainability
- An understanding that their competitiveness is tied to the talents and commitment of their workforce
- Belief that most of their future leaders are already working for the company
- Constant hunt for new ways to improve employee experience
- Structure around teamwork, minimizing hierarchy, and maximizing goal achievement
Citynet meets most – if not all – of the common traits of the winners. We value our teammates and their contribution to the success of our company, and we clearly understand that our customer relationships are important, vital, and lasting.
At Citynet, our atmosphere of teamwork and your commitment to excellence puts us in good company as one of the best places to work. When Citynet compares itself to the winners of this contest, we know we are in very good company!
Our People:
This month we are featuring two of our people who were both recently promoted into new jobs of increasing responsibility.
Joshua B. Shreve, Digital Phone Service Support Specialist
Joshua joined the Citynet staff in August, 2006. Starting as a Technical Support Representative, he was part of a top-notch team dedicated to providing the best in customer support. By March of 2007, Joshua was working as a supervisor as well as being called upon to troubleshoot networking and digital phone issues both remotely and on-site for several business and residential customers. He has worked closely with several departments maintaining quality service by monitoring trouble tickets, developing training materials, testing new devices and software, as well as other tasks. Joshua enjoys spending time with his family, grilling out, and is also an amateur cartoonist. He is based in Bridgeport, WV.
Ray Berger, Supervisor, Technical Support Center.
Ray came to Citynet after holding a number of positions in the Weston, WV area. He earned is AA degree in Computer Information Technology from West Virginia Junior College. At Citynet he was a member of our technical customer support group helping customers with any questions or problems that they may have had. He was promoted to Supervisor in the Technical Support Center in March 2008.
Comments and suggestions are always welcome.
